Kids. Don't you just hate 'em. If they're not throwing a tantrum in the supermarket, or spoiling your peaceful train journey with their incessant mobile phone noise, then ... er ... they're successfully underpinning their entire musical output with a delta blues root.
Sister-sister-brother combo Kitty, Daisy and Lewis have been making waves around the London scene for the last few years, despite still only being 15, 20 and 18. But their schtick is no saccharine Hanson-style gimmick. KDL are a genuinely rip-roaring, feet-tapping, washboard-rattling swing blues ensemble, lovingly homaging the bluegrass styles of the Deep South 50's - the kind of thing that wouldn't be out of place in a Coen Brothers movie.
Now veterans of the Bestival lineup, and with their eagerly-anticipated debut LP shortly to be released on Sunday Best, their live shows are one the best kept secrets in the UK - tight, energetic, and above all, great fun. Catch them at xXx London.
