Currently basking in the afterglow of an excellent self-titled debut LP, and well-received tours from here to Timbuktoo, Friendly Fires land at xXx London partway through the old 'meteoric rise' cliche.

Now signed to the consistently brilliant XL label and straddling genres and generally sounding like a band of the times, the Fires cite Prince and Carl Craig as their greatest influences, and it certainly shows in their lush, dancy repertoire of perfectly-written modern pop songs. Think Talking Heads remixed for the nu-ravers. Oi oi!
