Who?
Not, as the name might have led you to believe, a nice girl called Emma from the home counties who plays tasteful stuff like Spiller's 'Groovejet', but actually a geezer.  DJ Emma's from Tokyo y'see: Emma actually means King of Hell in Buddhism! (Next you'll be telling us the name means 'Fornicator of the Apocalypse' in Cantonese).  He may be a new name to us over here in the UK, but in Japan he's been a leading producer since the mid-Eighties, which kinda makes him the Carl Craig of the East.

What do they sound like?

The Eastern Carl Craig isn't far off the mark actually - DJ Emma charts a deep, atmospheric and soulful course through house and techno.  The hands-in-the-air piano & strings of We Got The Love is well worth 9 minutes of your time.
