Diesel:U:Music radio soon back again!

...is over for now, but will soon be back again! Our one month FM license ended May 30th, but in a week or so we will start to broadcast hot hot music across the planet with amaaaaaaaaxing podcasts, shows and mixes!

WEDNESDAY 21ST MAY OMDZZZZZZZ(OH MY DAYZ)

OMDZZ just like my good friend Mahta I have fallen in love, but for all the right reasons. Being here at DUM Radio has been great so far, I love it like a really really fat kid loves cake. I can't wait to do another show like a fat kid at lunch time waiting in the dinner line (enough of the fat jokes). I got such a buzz from doing my radio show, even just been around the desk is fun, I don't want to leave (in german accent). Let me think ummmm my highlights, dont really know ,but I really enjoyed the ROJO Show, Tayo's show was cool and not forgetting Chantelle Fiddy and Hattie Collins, Emma Warren and the rest.

If I could marry radio I would, I think we would be a match made in heaven, till death do us part, to have and to hold... You know the rest.

Nehuu, would just like to take a minute to say thank you to everyone at DUM radio. It would be great if Diesel could continue on after the 30th but what's meant to be is meant to be.

Pllllllllllease, pleaseeeeee stop putting glasses in the kitchen! Will someone pleaseeeeeee change the "Diesel Minimal" jingle... It's so annoying,

If you haven't guessed already, I bloooooody love radioo mannn (scottish accent).

Well anyways, it was nice to see you to see you NICE. Bye for now.

Sunday 18th May

Hello folks!  My names Amy and i'm a producer here at Diesel U Music Radio.  I'm incredibly proud of what we've achieved here at the Amersham Arms so far.  From sweaty studios packed with MCs to chilled live acoustic sessions with American folk bands, we've done it all as a team with style, passion and 100% from the heart.

Everyone who is working on this project and has done a show here have had such passion for what they do.  It is truely a celebration of all things new, creative and D.I.Y.  Jeez, i'm so proud!  Several of the team and guests, including Benga, have taken to calling me Mum.  I don't mind though, I feel like a proud mother!  Haaa!

So yeah, my personal Diesel journey is a nice one.  When i first started in radio as a work experience girl at BBC 7, I was also a shop assistant at Diesel High Street Kensington.  I have the funnest memories of folding denim, hanging with my mates and playing tunes in our store.  A few years on and i'm working as an Assistant Producer at Radio 1 & 1Xtra and my friend Emma asks me if i'd like to produce for this new station called Diesel U Music.  A no brainer.  A brand I already rate and respect initiating a project in a field I am passionately involved in?  Get in!

So, here we are, 28 individuals, all passionate about radio, fashion, music, life and about making Diesel U Music Radio something we can all be a part of.  A platform for artists to do their thing in a format so free and creative that it is literally an audio blank canvas.

I am so proud of what we have achieved as a team. And impressed with Diesel for their belief in us, for always doing something new, exciting and slightly on edge, and to all the artists, presenters and DJs who rock up with records, guitars and MCs and hijack our airwaves, and will continue to til the end of May, and hopefully beyond....!

Oh yeah, me and Susan are doing our own show tomorrow night 8-10pm!  We've got some killer interviews, guests on the phone and really exciting new music.  So stay tuned friends, big tings a gwan!

Peace and love,

Amy 'Mum' Redmond
Producer, Diesel U Music Radio

Saturday 17th May

‘So here we are aye…’ were the words of Bang gang and the Bumblebeez bringing the aussie Modular records vibe to the studio on Thursday. We are nearly at our half way point in radioOOO land and what a two weeks we have had. Australian vision hit the webcam as Dave Bang Gang knocked the skull (in which the camera is held) onto the floor, for the rest of the show viewers were treated to a truly upside down experience. Everyone at Diesel Radio have become fascinated by our listener’s webcams watching us as we are watching them. Man in pants all over globe…nice. We also had the Eskimo Record legends the Glimmers rushing to the studio before heading back to the Stag and Dagger festival in Shoreditch, where giant cats were spotted promoting the station, bizarre…

Thursday saw Dub Disco calling up the legend that is the Mad Professor in his Mexican hotel room. The fact that a film crew were in the studio saw excitement levels rise as producer Ben attempted the art of MCing into the mic…eeek.

And so the weekend began with a bang…

Reju, radio producer for the BBC’s Asian Network did her first ever show last night with Bobby Friction giving her tips on presenting. Danny Clark brought his Late Night Audio crew with Toby Tobias to New Cross for a truly late night disco marathon.  Today sees the likes of the Black Ghosts, the yOyO crew with Seb Chew, Luke Wright with Scoobius Pip, and Ali Love with his brother Jasper in tow, all joining us in sunny South London. EEEK!

Thursday live on the radio: ED BANGER RECORDS & PEDRO WINTER!

We are proud to present an amazing show live this Thursday, at 2pm cet: directly from Paris, Ed Banger will be visiting our London studio for a special show! Don't miss it!

5 years ago Ed Banger Records was started in Montmartre, Paris by Pedro Winter, aka BUSY P. Over the past 2 years the label has risen greatly, with recently all artists being on a worldwide tour at sold out venues around the world. Drawing on the street energy of HIP HOP, Rock’ explosion and hypnotic compression of techno music, but remaining open to all other influences, the sound of the label, mostly electronic & saturated, has become a trademark, registered worldwide. Among the artists include Justice, Busy P, Uffie, Feadz, Mehdi, DSL, Oizo, Vicarious Bliss, Mr Flash, Krazy Baldhead, SebastiAn and SO:ME’s.
